This is an outline of the things we are doing to manage the impact of the virus, protect our customers and colleagues, and continue to supply and support our customers.

We have implemented a rigorous and precautionary approach to make sure we can operate as normally as possible, following the latest advice from the Government. We already had in place business continuity plans to ensure we can operate successfully through many different scenarios and these have proved useful in maintaining our service. So from our perspective it remains, and will remain as far as physically possible, “business as usual” for our customers.

Essential measures to protect our colleagues’ and customers’ well-being

We’ve put in place a lot of measures to protect our colleagues during this situation. We are providing regular advice on good hygiene practices and are stepping up cleaning regimes. We’ve also put in place a lot of preventative measures including guidance on safe working distance, keeping face to face contact to a minimum where possible, and we will of course take care of any colleague who displays symptoms and ask them to self-isolate immediately.

We have asked our sales teams to keep in touch with customers via telephone. You can still see one of our salespeople if you want to – they have been guided on safe working distance and other procedures to keep both parties safe.

Maintaining supply

We have a robust and diverse supply chain and are working with suppliers on a daily basis to make sure we can keep customers supplied, and to reduce any impact to an absolute minimum. We can’t predict how the situation may unfold but we do know that if anyone can maintain “business as usual” then it will be us.

Deliveries

Our drivers are now offering a ‘no contact’ delivery service. When they drop your goods you will not be asked to sign anything. Our driver will stay a safe distance from you and will take a picture of the goods when delivered. That way everyone stays safe.
